Marilyn Rivers is a nationally recognized strategic risk management resiliency professional who has extensive experience in delivering program development, fiscal oversight, employment practice consensus, property and casualty operational administration, compliance, and education tailored to meet the dynamic needs of business. She recently retired from public service and has a combined thirty-five years of experience managing operational risk in both the public and private sectors within local and national markets. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Clarkson University and a Masters in Secondary Education from Tufts University and professional designations as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Claims (AIC) from The Institutes.

She actively provides strategic operational risk education to national insurance, risk, and safety management professional organizations and government agencies via multiple media platforms including podcasts, webinars and in person training. Marilyn assisted in the resurgence of PRIMA Institute – the Public Risk Management Association’s center for excellence for the education of risk management professionals. She is a past recipient of PRIMA’s Risk Manager of the Year and the PRIMA President’s Award for Excellence awarded as a result of her leadership and stewardship of the organization’s education and training activities.

Marilyn is also active in providing operational risk services to non-profit communities. Her international volunteer leadership awards include the Lions International Melvin Jones Award, Knight of the Blind, and Robert J Uplinger Distinguished Service Award.

She is nationally known as a consensus builder. When the going gets tough, she digs in to help her partners work together to persevere in difficult situations.
